About us

Radiology, in its varied manifestations, has become so indispensable to contemporary medical practice that in some instances its utility far exceeds all other diagnostic modalities combined, yielding far more information. In the context of South Africa, imaging has implications way beyond its utility as a diagnostic tool. Like most developing countries, we are confronted with a huge burden of disease, fast growing population, massive influx of immigrants, while at the same time severely constrained in both material and human resources, making it difficult to manage these multiple challenges. In this climate, imaging is a powerful tool serving as a bridge that provides clinicians with detailed 3-dimensional patient information, thus saving money by cutting down on invasive and expensive investigations and procedures, and reducing hospital stay.

Drs. Thapelo Motshudi and Maletsema Kekana founded this practice with the aim of providing highly professional and specialized imaging services for both the private and public sectors. This was driven by the realization that the exponential growth of imaging technology, coupled with the steady decline in the cost of data, has led to radiology becoming such a fundamental aspect of medicine that it is no longer possible to imagine a world without it. This phenomenal growth has created the space for innovation and creativity in how radiologists complement patient management, by offering non-invasive, rapid, cheap and safe diagnostic procedures.

As resident radiologists at Botshilu Private Hospital, our vision is to deliver quality imaging, employing the most modern equipment, in a cost effective manner, and in the fastest possible time. We strive to uphold the highest levels of professional standards; to provide full and comprehensive services; and to be available around the clock and throughout the year.
